Center for Doctoral Studies, Educational Leadership
(2) Tenure Track Faculty Positions – Assistant Professor

Nine month tenured track positions.

Duties:
The Educational Leadership doctoral program has a high quality online program serving graduate students throughout Texas, other states, and international regions. In particular, this position will work with a group of highly motivated students who are leaders in education.

The online courses are delivered as five week long classes, with graduate students taking eight courses during the year. Faculty members are also expected to continue with their research and publishing, and participate in service to the College, the University, and to the professional education community. Faculty members are expected to teach online classes. The successful candidate will be expected to make the following contributions to the Center for Doctoral Studies in Educational Leadership and the College of Education and Human Development.

• Teach courses online in the Center for Doctoral Studies in Educational Leadership.

• Assist with developing and supporting collaborations with international education entities (schools, universities, corporations, governments, etc.).

• Provide service and outreach to local, state, national, and international educational organizations.

• Advise and mentor doctoral students in the Center for Doctoral Studies in Educational Leadership.

• Collaborate with other faculty and students to foster strategic initiatives that are creative and innovative for the Center for Doctoral Studies in Educational Leadership.

• Collaborate with faculty in areas of research, outreach, and pursuit of external funding

• Serve on dissertation committees related to research interests or educational leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
• An earned doctorate in Educational Leadership, Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, or Educational Technology Leadership.

• Previous experience in higher education as a professor and/or administrator.

• Background/experience in international work and a record of integrating educational entities (public school districts, universities, corporations, governments, etc.) into a common mission of educating the world.

• A record of excellence, or demonstrate the potential for excellence, in teaching doctoral courses in at least two of the following specializations: educational leadership; quantitative research methods; qualitative research methods; leadership and organizational change; school or higher education environment;

• Commitment to working effectively with diverse groups of doctoral students from around the world.

• Knowledge of trends and current practices in educational leadership, educational technology and distance learning

• Knowledge of trends and current practices in global educational leadership

• Excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills, including the abilities to collaborate with diverse individuals and to function effectively as a team member.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:
• Successful record of university teaching in online programs

• Experience working in public schools or higher education as an administrator or equivalent.

• Demonstrated experience in global educational leadership

• Demonstrated experience in leading or implementing educational technology and distance learning

• Demonstrated record of scholarship appropriate to rank of appointment, grant writing expertise, and a record of using innovative instructional techniques such as technology-based instruction and other inquiry-based pedagogues.
