Job Summary/Basic Function

Job Summary:
The Department of Political Science invites applications for one full-time, one-year Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor position in Political Science beginning August 2018.

Candidates should be able to teach introductory core curriculum courses in American Government (POLS 2301 and POLS 2302) through a variety of mediums including on-campus and online.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:
Candidates should have a Master or PhD in Political Science, Government or Public Administration awarded by August 1, 2017. Salary and rank are dependent on experience and credentials. Preference will be given to PhD and ABD candidates with advanced degrees in Political Science or Government and specializing in congress and legislative process or the American presidency.

The successful candidate will implement effective teaching strategies and communicate with, motivate, and evaluate students; maintain an active service agenda; participate with other faculty in professional and scholarly exchanges within the department and throughout the university; and participate in educationally related aspects of community and civic affairs.
