Position Summary Information

Job Summary/Basic Function

Lamar University invites applications for part time adjunct faculty positions in our Industrial Engineering (IE) Department. This position is part time and as needed. Successful candidates will teach undergraduate or graduate course(s). Candidates for teaching undergraduate courses should have a master’s degree (minimum) in Engineering and candidates for teaching graduate courses should have a doctoral degree. Lamar IE offers both graduate and undergraduate courses during the evening and online. Potential courses to be taught include work design, safety, quality, operations research, statistics, CAD/CAM/CIM, production and inventory control, six sigma, lean, engineering management, systems engineering, and similar IE topics. Come join us in teaching the next generation of engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. Provide materials and lectures for a course(s) in Industrial Engineering
2. Grading (a teaching assistant may be provided)
3. Be responsive to student questions and concerns
4. Provide great customer service

Home to approximately 15,000 students, Lamar University is one of the fastest growing universities in Texas and is a member of The Texas State University System. Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or other related Engineering discipline or Masters in Statistics or Math
